- Karimi Predicts 700,000 Votes for Tinubu
Political leaders from Yagba Federal Constituency on Sunday set aside past rivalries to present a united front, declaring that there is “no division, no rice and beans politics” within their ranks as they pledged full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Sunday Steve Karimi ahead of the 2027 general election.
The declaration was made at the Yagba Federal Constituency Town Hall Meeting held at GYB Hall, Isanlu, under the theme “Continuity for Sustainable Development in Kogi West Senatorial District.”
The event drew a broad cross-section of the constituency’s political and social leadership, including council chairmen, sitting and former lawmakers, traditional rulers, youth groups, women’s associations, and representatives of persons with disabilities from across Yagba and beyond.
Speaking on behalf of the council chairmen, Ademola Destiny said leaders across Yagba, Mopamuro, and other local government areas had resolved to work as one team going forward.
“We have put our differences behind us. We have no division. There is no rice and beans politics in Yagba. We are working together for the good of our people,” he said.
Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, the central figure at the event, assured attendees that Kogi West would deliver 700,000 votes for President Tinubu in 2027, describing the president as “so much loved by the people” on account of the impact of his policies on their daily lives.
The senator cited several achievements of the Tinubu administration in stabilizing the economy and improving infrastructure, arguing that these efforts were already producing tangible benefits for ordinary Nigerians and formed the basis of his projection.
Karimi also expressed confidence in a clean sweep for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming senatorial district election, attributing his optimism to the impact of his work in every town, community, and local government area making up Kogi West.
“I am loved by my people, and I will continue to serve them purposefully in the Senate,” he said.
The town hall meeting, which brought together political stakeholders from across Kogi West, closed with renewed calls for unity within the APC and a collective commitment to sustaining development across the district.
With the show of solidarity in Yagba and the large turnout recorded in Isanlu, stakeholders said the message from the meeting was unambiguous: Kogi West is mobilizing early for continuity, with President Tinubu and Senator Karimi at the forefront of that push.
