Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, has disclosed that the State under Capt. Idris Wada would in the next few years rank amongst the most developed in the country.
The Deputy Governor gave the assurance when he received in audience People’s Democratic Party (PDP) youths from Kabba – Bunu LGA, led by Kayode Olowomoron the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.
Awoniyi, described youths, as the future of any nation, said the present administration of Capt. Idris Wada realizing the role youths play in nation building has made issues affecting them a priority.
While urging them to take the various opportunities of acquiring skills as provided by the present administration very seriously, Awoniyi, tasked them to invest their time in meaningful ventures.
The State Deputy Governor assured that the State Government is working out a robust empowerment policies that will take care of youths and women of the State who are not gainfully employed, urged them to equally take the Agriculture intervention of Capt. Idris Wada, which he noted has placed the State on the world map as a rice and cassava producing State with the serious it deserves.
Despite dwindling resources accruing to all tiers of Government, Awoniyi said the Governor has not disappointed the people, rather has remained resolute in the provision of gains of Democracy that has impact on the lives of the people, urged the youths to remain supportive of the PDP and the administration of Capt. Idris Wada.
In his remarks, a youth leader, Kayode Micheal who spoke on behalf of the delegation, commended the leadership style of Capt Idris Wada and solicited the support of the present administration towards the economic and financial empowerment of the youths of the area.
Kayode described Capt Wada as a youth friendly governor whose passion for youths of the state has remained unrivaled, assured him of the unflinching support of the youths in his political aspiration.
