Kogi Speaker Charges Religious Leaders to Partake in Politics

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly,  Hon. Abdullahi Bello, has charged religious leaders to participate actively in politics so as to help sanitise the system.

He urged them not to sit on the fence but to partake in politics and use their Godly means to salvage the nation from her present predicaments.

Speaking at the installation ceremony of one of the members of the State House of Assembly, Elder Friday Paul Sanni, as an Elder in the Anglican, Diocese of Idah, he emphasized that the nation is being threatened with corruption and insecurity among others, hence the need for the intervention of the religious leaders for solution.

He also charged the church to always serve as instrument for peace, unity, tolerance and advance the cause of humanity in general.
Alhaji Bello commended the Church for the positive role they played that ushered in the last peaceful and credible elections and urged them not to relent in their efforts until the nation attains more perfection in all her future elections.
He commended Elder Sanni for what he called ‘passage of life’ and to use his attained “Eldership” as a messenger of peace, tranquility and progress, not only for his people but the state and the country at large.
