Kogi Set to Receive Good Governance Tour Team

As the Federal Government Good Governance Tour Team visits Kogi State beginning from tomorrow, the Kogi State Government says it will use the visit to show case its efforts in touching the lives of its citizenry under the transformation agenda of Capt Idris Wada.

The Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Yabagi Bologi stated this after leading the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi and other top government officials to some of the projects that will be inspected by the visiting team as well as the extent of preparation put in place to receive the team.

The Commissioner explained that so much has been achieved within the present democratic dispensation in the state since 1999,urged people to see democracy as a work in progress and not an end.

Alhaji Yabagi disclosed that most projects executed by the present administration are projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people, described democracy as the best form of government that can deliver at the doorsteps of the people gains of democracy.

The commissioner disclosed that despite the challenges facing the nations democracy,its gains he noted far out weighs the disadvantages.

Alh. Yabagi commended the judicious utilization of resources by the Capt Idris Wada led administration adding that the completion of inherited projects and the inauguration of new other projects that are beneficial to the people is a strong point of the present administration.

The Commissioner call on the people to show more support to the administration in the state so that it will continue to do more for the people.

Among the places visited by the Deputy Governor and other top government functionaries ahead the visit include; the Vocational Training Centre, Male and Female Hostels all in the State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

The State Government officials also inspected work at the Display Assembling plant and workshop located inside the ADP premises.

Other places visited by the government officials are the newly completed state secretariat complex, the Confluence Olympic size stadium and the confluence Beach Hotel.

The Good governance team is expected to visit projects executed by both the Federal, State and Local Government across the State in the next four days beginning from tomorrow for which the Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Yabagi Bologi disclosed that the State is ready for the visit.
