Kogi Poly Trains Staff on Application of ICT for Optimum Performance

The management of Kogi State Polytechnic has organised a seminar for training and equipping staff with skills required for efficient utilisation of relevant technology and generate optimum result in financial management.

The seminar which was organised for the Bursary Unit and held at Hall ‘A’, the Polytechnic main campus, Lokoja, on Tuesday, was also aimed at entrenching professionalism and expertise in office management and development.

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, explained that the training was aimed at bringing experienced practitioners to interact with the staff in order to improve the capacity of staff performance, adding that there was need to build a robust work force for efficient delivery.

Salisu, who was represented by the Deputy Rector, Dr. Kehinde Felix Lamidi, enjoined the participants to take the training seriously and advised that the process should be interactive and practical oriented.

The Managing Director of the Sadiq Ozigi and Associates, who is also a former Bursar of Kogi State University, Alhaji Sadiq Ozigi, said the training would help the staff to prepare and get themselves equipped with relevant skills and better understanding of accounting system.

Alhaji Sadiq noted that with the advent of modern technology, there was need for diversification as the training would help to improve the effectiveness of employees in an organisation.

Other resource person’s present for the training were, Tijani Salami, Deputy Director, Office of the Auditor General of the Federation and Abdulmumini Ibrahim, a chief Accountant from the Federal University, Lokoja, amongst others.

Some of the Principal Officers of the Polytechnic present include the Registrar, Elder Sunday Aiyeetan and the Bursar, Mr. Adeika Obadaki Obaro and participants from the Bursary Department of the Polytechnic.
