Kogi PDP Primaries Update: Folorunsho Daniyan Wins Mopamuro Ticket

The immediate past Liaison Officer 1 of Mopamuro Local Government Area, Honourable Folorunsho Daniyan has won the Mopamuro Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) sole ticket to contest in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Kogi State. His co-contenders stepped down for him.

Meanwhile, Arc Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor has urged the people of Mopamuro Local Government Area to embrace inclusive politics as the new order in the area.

The Deputy Governor said the change in direction of having a participatory democracy will engender peace,unity and development of the area.

Awoniyi, described politics as a tool for development,urged politicians to imbibe the spirit of give and take and eschew the winner takes all syndrome.

The Deputy Governor commended the spirit displayed by those who stepped down, noting that rather than the usual do or die politics,politicians should strive for development.

He urged the people of the area to put the political past behind and embrace the new leadership direction of the area that is result and development oriented.

In his speech, Funsho Daniyan, elected candidate of the Party described his victory as the peoples wish assuring that it will spur him to greater service.

Daniyan commended the courage of his co-contestants who stepped down as well as those who went into the race describing it as the beauty of democracy.
