Kogi PDP Crisis: Party Lifts Gov’ship Aspirant’s Suspension

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Icheke Ward, Omala LGA of Kogi State, has lifted the suspension of an aspirant in the party’s governorship primary prelude to the November 16, 2019 Kogi State governorship election, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim.

The party in a statement said it has withdrawn its earlier suspension of Alh. Abubakar Ibrahim, after due consultations.

The PDP in Icheke Ward said at no time did it expel the aspirant, noting that after consultation with the party leaders and stakeholders, it had withdrawn the suspension of the governorship aspirant.

The letter lifting the suspension was signed by Idakwoji Sunday, Chairman, and eighteen other executives of the Ward.

According to the letter, the action was in line with the party’s commitment to the principle of fairness and oneness aimed at ensuring fluidity within the party.

Recall that Ibrahim was found guilty for alleged involvement in anti-party activities by the disciplinary committee set up by his home PDP Icheke Ward in Omala Local Government Area to investigate allegations against him.

The petition against Ibrahim which was investigated and found him guilty included: challenging the outcome of the PDP governorship primaries which declared Musa Wada as its candidate in court without resorting to the party as required by the party constitution.
