Kogi State Chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), in its management meeting held on Wednesday, 28th of May, 2025, has made major resolutions for the transition process as the Amb. Samuel Usman Ogohi led tenure is rounding up.
The resolution was stated in articles 5 to 10 of the communique of the meeting, respectively. The Kogi NYCN dissolves all Local Governments (LG) Executive Councils (Exco) due to the expiration of tenure and noncompliance with the NYCN’s electoral guidelines and its transition process.
It also mandates the Zonal Executive Committees (ZEC) to set up Caretaker Committees in the affected 20 LGs so as not to create a vacuum in leadership, ensuring that transition process to bring in new elected LGs officials are kickstarted within the next 30 days.

Tuesday, 29th of July, 2025, was also slated for the State’s Elective Congress at the Youth House, Lokoja, inaugurating Electoral Committee (ElCom) and Congress Planning Committee (CPC) to ease the transition process.
The communique also quoted various portions of the NYCN constitution to back up its decision.
