Kogi state motorcycle Transport Union under the leadership of Comrade Gimba Ibrahim has petitioned the state commissioner of Police, Kogi state command and the Director of State Security Service.
In the petition which was signed by the Union Secretary, Comrade Anas Upahi and made available to this reporter, the union accused the past chairmen of the union of planing to form a parallel union.
The petition pointed out that since 2012 when election was conducted, some aggrieved losers were called in the interest of peace and overall well being of the state and resolved amicably,an agreement was signed by the incumbent chairman, Comrade Gimba Ibrahim, while Malam Baba Aliyu Musa signed on behalf of the aggrieved losers with the signing, the petition added, we thought the matter was over.
According to the petition, the Union leadership since then have been providing good leadership and respect to the constituted authority, while the five aggrieved losers were undermining the union by causing disharmony amongst members.
The petition reads in part: after the 2016,the following members, Umar Farouq Kabo, Baba Aliyu Musa, Muhammed N Audu, Alhaji Audu and Alfa B. K.Usman are bent on causing mayhem within the union despite the fact that an agreement was signed between all leaders and the union ,that the union shall remain one and indivisible after the election”
“Despite the agreement,the aggrieved losers continued to cause mischief that if not check it’ll cause a crisis that may result into the lose of lives and properties in the state.
According to the petition, all efforts made by the union to resolve the problem amicably proved abortive as the aggrieved losers refused to attend all the peace meetings:” presently the said people filed a suit which is before the High court in Lokoja which is still pending, but it appears now that the said people have resolved to carryout their evil plans by setting up parallel union that will put parties on logger heads and then result into serious fracas here in Lokoja and spread to all the Local Government areas.
“It’s on this issues that we put forward this petition so that these evil people will be called to order as quickly as possible to stop any shed of blood “
