Kogi House Knocks Federal Government Over Road Projects

Kogi State House of Assembly has frowned at the Federal Government neglect of all federal roads across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The Speaker, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, made this known while meeting with members of the Correspondent Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State chapter

According to him, their mission was to draw the attention of the Federal Government to the situation, adding that virtually all the federal roads in the state were in deplorable condition and had  been causing a lot of road crashes, which had claimed several lives of innocent Nigerians.

The speaker, who appealed to the Federal Ministry of Works to do something as matter of urgency to rehabilitate or reconstruct all the roads,  said the call became imperative, since they  were the representatives of the people of the state.

He further said the deplorable condition of the roads caused incessant accidents on daily basis, adding the men of the underworld were also capitalising on these bad spots on the roads to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting road users and their passengers.

Honourable Bello also lamented that Lokoja -Kabba road, through Aiyetoro, Isanlu, Egbe  and to Ilorin, had been abandoned in the last 20 years, stressing that this had been  causing a lot of harrowing experience for the road users.
