The Supreme court that affirmed the election of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as duly elected governor of Kogi state has been described as “a confirmation of the perfect will of God and the irrefutable choice of the people.”
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, a front line supporter of the Governor, Mrs Bimpe Alfred said the court verdict has reinforced the people’s confidence in the judiciary.
“On behalf of myself and family, I celebrate with His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State; the Government and people of Kogi State; on the confirmation of His Excellency as the Governor of our dear state by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
“This is a good development for the advancement of democracy in our nation Nigeria and Africa at large as it goes a long way to pattern true democracy for other African nations.
“This victory shows that in the November 16th, 2019 elections, Kogi people overwhelmingly voted for him therefore no amount of opposition can contest that mandate.
“It is time for people from all political parties and all ethnic subgroups to rise up and support our God-ordained Governor,” she said.
