The Zonal Chairman, Kogi East of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Party (APDA), Hon. Joel Oche Yakubu has called on the electorate to take decisive stand on the forthcoming November governorship election in the state.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, Yakubu stated that APDA is most credible alternative to the main political parties in the state. He expressed confidence in the readiness of APDA to take over Kogi Lugard House.
According to party chieftain, the people of Kogi state are looking for a credible alternative to All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He noted that the electorate have tasted both APC and PDP and are in dire need of a clean, purposeful and progressive political party that can move the state forward.
Yakubu explained that APDA is currently engaging the electorate at different levels of discussion and the feedback has been positive.
“APDA is consolidating its spread in her continuous campaign and propagating its manifesto to the people of Kogi state. Our local government and wards structures are intact. More and more eligible voters who have great passion for Kogi state are joining APDA on a regular basis.
“I make bold to say that APDA is ready to present a credible candidate for the November 2 Kogi governorship election. Our candidate will emerge through a transparent, free and fair primary elections. APDA is ready to contest November governorship election without compromise.
“APDA currently enjoys the support of electorate who are already tired of the two major political parties in the state,” he said.
Yakubu called on patriotic Kogi electorate to join hands to move APDA forward to take over Lugard House come 2019.
