As the countdown to the August 29th All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Kogi State begins, Governor Yahaya Bello have been assured of  the overwhelming support of Ogori-Magongo delegates in the contest.

The lawmaker representing the area at the state assembly, Honourable Moses Akande who gave the assurance in a chat with newsmen in Lokoja, the state capital, on Tuesday pointed out that the area is intact for the Governor.

According to the legislator, “Governor Bello has no rival as far as Ogori-Magongo is concerned”. He revealed that the people are eager to reward him with their votes for his love and uncommon concern for them since assuming power three and half years ago.

Honourable Akande, who was also the immediate past Administrator of Ogori-Magongo council, expressed the confidence that both the primary and election in November would be smooth sailing for Governor Bello, as the people of the state, he argued, now know better that he means well for the state.

He chided critics of the administration, saying many of them have lost touch with reality, and urged them to tour round the state to see for themselves, the giant strides of the Yahaya Bello- led government, even in the face scarce resources.

He cited his achievements in infrastructure, agriculture , security, health, education, women and youth empowerment as well as several others as eloquent testimony of his love and vision for the unity and development of the state.

The lawmaker described the election of the Governor as a ‘walk over’, saying even though there are arrays of aspirants, Kogi people knows that with Governor Bello, the state is in a safe hand.

Honourable Akande lauded the efforts and sacrifices of leaders such as, Dr Abubakar Ohere, Chief Edward Onoja and many others to the process of governance, unity and development of the state, and prayed for renewed strength and wisdom as they  help the Governor in “evolving the Kogi of our dream and pride”.

He appealed to the people to remain resolute in their prayers and support for the government, reassuring that the foundation for a prosperous and greater Kogi State has just been laid.
