Kogi Renaissance Group has pleaded with sultan Saad Abubakar not to allow anything that will drag him into politics through misinformation by politicians, saying it will demean his ideals for the masses and the sultanate.
The group made this observation on the background of his visit to Kogi to commission an on going project of a government that abhor welfare of its citizens and the civil service.
The spokesperson for the group, Abdul Abdul said the stance and belief of the sultanate against anti masses’ policies fell short for honouring the invitation of Kogi governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello stating the fact the spiritual leader was misinformed.
The group said Kogi governor has stigmatized the revered office and even his religion, Islam which does not deserved to be honoured at any event. They stated that Kogi workers have undergone a lot of hardship in the last one year.
He advised the sultanate to devise independent findings before embarking on such trip, as the state governor has displayed a lot of inhuman decisions compare to what he met on ground.
“Yahaya Bello battered the civil service through tele-guided and endless screening for 12 months and declaring bonafide workers ghost and the idea of rebuilding the revenue house is counter productive and waste of scarce resources”, they said.
“What is the rational expending 1 billion to construct a revenue house when we have a newly built state secretariat by the Wada’s administration unoccupied. Salaries of pensioners and civil servants unpaid! This is complete financial profligacy”
The group said it was going to lead a high powered delegation to Sultan Saad to intimate him on the undoings of Yahaya Bello’s act on Kogi people. They urge him to withdraw his support to the governor.
The group opines that a lot of people are hiding under spiritual leaders and traditional rulers to inflict untold hardship on the masses.
