Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to bolstering the quality of teaching and learning at the State College of Education, Ankpa.
The Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu made this commitment on Wednesday at his office in Lokoja, during a meeting with a group of Set ’95 classmates of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo from the Federal Polytechnic Bida.
He extended his congratulations to the newly appointed Provost of the college, Dr. Fashagba Paul Femi, who had previously been Governor Ododo’s lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Bida, referring to the appointment as well-deserved.
The Deputy Governor emphasized the Provost’s exceptional rapport with students as a key factor in his appointment, highlighting the fact that one of his former students, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, now serves as the Governor of Kogi State.
He voiced his confidence in Dr. Fashagba Paul Femi’s ability to elevate the institution and assured full support to facilitate his success.


The Deputy Governor, who is an alumnus of the College of Education Ankpa, pledged collaboration between the state government and the institution to achieve their mutual goals.
Ealier in his remark, Dr. Fashagba Paul Femi, the newly appointed Provost of Kogi State College of Education Ankpa, expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Deputy Governor Joel Salifu for the appointment, promising to uphold their trust.
He outlined his purpose for meeting with the Deputy Governor, seeking support in enhancing the administration of the institution to ensure excellence in education both within the college and across the state.
Reflecting on their past at the Federal Polytechnic Bida, the leader of the delegation, Ali Ibrahim, reminisced about their journey and expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for appointing their former lecturer as the Provost of the college.
