Kogi State Government says it will handle the medical expenses of 4 Ekiti state golfers travelling to Abuja for a tournament who were involved in an accident within the state.
The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs Folashade Ayoade stated this when she paid a visit to the accident victims at the Reference Hospital, Okene.
Mrs Ayoade, who sympathized with them over the incident, assured that they will receive the best medical care in view of the state of the art equipment available in the Reference Hospital and the competent professionals that carry out their duties for the well being of the patient.
She maintained that the medical facility was established by the immediate past administration of former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello to provide accessible and affordable healthcare for the people of Kogi State and Nigerians as a whole.
According to the SGS, a one-time Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Paullen Tallen had informed her about the unfortunate incident that claimed 2 lives, which prompted her decision to visit and commiserate with the victims, praying God to revive the unconscious ones and grant quick recovery to the injured.
The Chief Medical Director of the Reference Hospital, Okene, Prof Solomon Avidime, explained that all necessary tests, scan, x-ray and medical procedures have been conducted on the accident victims.
Prof. Avidime said of the 4 victims brought in, two were in stable condition while two others were unconscious, assuring that they will continue to receive the best care for speedy recovery.
