Kogi Govt Compensates Property Owners Along Ganaja-Otokiti Road

Kogi state government has paid compensation to property owners on the Ganaja axis of the Ganaja/Otokiti dual carriage bypass road project.

This action was in a bid to enable the contractor fast track progress in the project that is designed to ease traffic flow in Lokoja metropolis.

While presenting cheques to the beneficiaries, the state Commissioner of Works, Hon. Godwin Onamah, disclosed that the governor, Capt. Idris Wada, has graciously approved the sum of N75 million for the payment and thanked the people for their sacrifice towards the development of the state.

Earlier in a statement the state Commissioner of information, Hajia Zainab Okino who made the cheque presentation said, the road project was initiated by Governor Wada in the best interest of the people. She thanked the property owners for their positive response to the project and wished them well in their various locations.

Representatives of the beneficiaries, Mr Walter Akubor, Abdul Mohammed and Dr Emmanuel Anyaogwu expressed their appreciation to Governor Wada for his giant strides to develop the state and said they were very happy with the compensation paid to them.

The permanent secretary in the ministry, Deaconess Deborah Ogunmola, Director Civil engineering, Engr. James Audu, civil engineers and officials in the ministries of Works, Lands, Housing and Urban Development later gave out the remaining cheques.
