Friends and supporters loyal to the Accountant General of Kogi state, Alhaji Jibrin Momoh have assured him a landslide victory during the Party’s governorship primary election as they unanimously contributed to purchase the All Progressives Congress’ nomination and expression of interest form for him.
A group led by Hon. Ebije Paul Joseph, who briefed Journalists at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, said they bought the form for Alhaji Jibrin Momoh due to his scintillating leadership quality.
Explaining further, Ebije added that the motive behind the gesture was the illustrious nature of Alhaji Jibrin who, according to him, is best prepared for the job.
“We are here today to show our love to our precious principal, friend and boss. We have come to show the world that only those who have a call for leadership will serve better when they emerge. We are calling on Alhaji Jibrin Momoh to come and lead us. That is why we got this form for him. We are people from the three senatorial districts. Our mission is to ensure that we have a credible candidate flying out party’s ticket. In our candid opinion, Alhaji Jibrin is the man for the job,” he said.
Hon. Ebije also elucidated on the egalitarian nature of Kogi state as against the rotational status of the governor’s seat within the three senatorial districts in the state as it is being presently agitated for.
“Kogi state is an egalitarian state. Every credible kogite is eligible to govern Kogi state regardless of his place of birth and his mode of worship. We need to move beyond regional mycrosm that has over the years enslaved our country. We need to look beyond that and look out for credible men and women that captain the ship of our state to the desired destination.”
When asked of his principal’s preferred mode of primary election, Ebije, a former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, said the mode of primary election was not the prerogative of his principal as the onus lies on the APC’s leadership to determine a suitable method that the governorship primary election would be conducted, adding that Alhaji Jibrin being a loyal party man would welcome any method the primary would be conducted within the purview of the party’s rules and regulations.
Three other members of the team who gave goodwill messages at the press briefing also harped on the readiness of the group to mobilize support for Alhaji Jibrin, saying that there was no other aspirant that could match his abilities.
