All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Kogi state, Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman (rtd) has denied reports alleging that he paid some lobbyists to help facilitate endorsement of his aspiration.
Responding to the reports, Jibrin stated that the relentless rumours are ominous signs that his opponents are jittery.
The former Chief of Naval Staff noted that rumour suggesting that he was defrauded by a lobbyist who promised to help secure Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s endorsement of his governorship aspiration is untrue.
Speaking on behalf of Jibrin’s media team, Kehinde Alamoh noted that; “His opponents are jittery and they have resorted to false allegations. They are afraid of his wide acceptance by the people of Kogi State.
“Admiral Jibrin’s ambition had been enjoying support from party leaders across the country including the party National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and consolidated by activities of members of the party support groups who are strongly behind his aspiration to reposition Kogi State on the path of development, good governance and progress.
“Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has exhibited true leadership in the APC with bundles of experience, good enough for the transformation of Nigeria. We know those behind the cheap blackmail and propaganda and we vow that they can never stop this ambition to rescue and salvage Kogi State.
“His ambition is divine and cannot be truncated by any man. Those behind the report of my been duped or being desperate are those who are already losing sleep over my growing acceptance among Kogi electorates, no amount of cheap blackmail or sponsored falsehood in the media can distract me or derail God’s plan for Kogities through my mandate.
“First they said he has dumped APC and moved to African Democratic Congress(ADC) and that the governorship has been zoned away from his local government area to Idah. They have all failed because we remain resolute and determined to rescue Kogites free from bondage.
“We are very focused on the goal and we cannot be distracted. If you observe correctly, you will discover that we are not resting on our oars, we are moving and taking our message to the nooks and crannies of the state, while the so called opponents are running around in hotels in Abuja looking for ways to subvert the will of the people, they are not on ground in Kogi State and none of them can win any election in Kogi State.”
