A community policing organizatio, Ganaja/Ajaokuta Neighborhood Watch, has cleared the air on a suspect arrested by men of Nigeria Police Force with a ammunitions at the campaign venue of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, in Lokoja.
According to the Director, Communications, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka Campaign Organization, Faruk Adejoh-Audu in a statement, the suspect, Jerry Isaac, was arrested on Sunday by men of the Nigeria Police Force, while attempting to plant ammunition on the campaign train of the Murtala Ajaka.
In a swift reaction, the Ganaja/Ajaokuta Neighborhood Watch said the suspect arrested on Sunday around the campaign venue was a known hunter.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the association, Prince Peter Ugbeta, on Monday.
Ugbeta said the statement was meant to douse down the information that has gone out concerning the arrested person.
“The person is an identified hunter who didn’t mean any harm to Murtala Yakubu Ajaka,” he stated
He called on the general public, particularly the security agencies to take note.
