Kogi Gov’ship: ‘ADC is the Real Deal, Be Part of It’ – Dr. Omede

Deputy Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Idris Omede, has assured the people of Kogi state of improved welfare.

Dr. Omede, a Commander Igala Kingdom (CIK), gave the assurance in his speech during the official flag-off of Renew Kogi With Leke/Omede Support Group in Lokoja on Saturday.

The former National President of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) stated that ADC is the real deal in the November 11 Kogi governorship election, and called on all electorate not to hesitate to join the winning team.

He said the ADC governorship ticket is on a rescue mission to renew Kogi in all ramifications.

He assured that the welfare of the people of all classifications – men, women, youths, and students – as well as creating an enabling business environment where the security of lives and properties will be the fulcrum of Leke Abejide/Omede Idris administration and governance.

“It is a great delight that we are here today, to flag-off the Renew Kogi with Leke Abejide/Omede Idris support group in our quest to enthrone greater, better democracy and governance in our dear state-Kogi.

“As a medical practitioner with many years of experience with various administrative and leadership skills, my compassion for people, irrespective of their background ,continues to be a driving force in my quest for service to the people,” he said.

Dr. Omede said the combination of Hon Leke Abejide and himself is poised to ignite the huge potential in human and material resources Kogi state is endowed with, with a renewed lease and hope for unity, peace, and development devoid of hatred and animosities.

“Hon Leke Abejide remains a highflying and performing House of Representative member of the Yagba Federal Constituency of our state who has performed creditably well to the delight of his constituents and the admiration of his people, colleagues, and other parts of the state.

“Our combination, with me being a former Commissioner of Health in the state of the 4th Republic (2012 – 2016) brings forth a lot of practical knowledge and experiences. I have transverse the entire state severally. I am conversant with various sectors of the state ministries, departments, agencies and government intervention. These experiences will bring to bear a better and more coordinated governance system,” he added.

On behalf of Hon Leke Abejide and himself, Dr. Omede charged the support groups, individuals, ADC party members, members of other parties and electorates that will cast votes in Kogi state to as a matter of expedience, necessity, reality, and love for the state, align with this combination.

“Do all that is lawfully possible to deliver victory to the Rescue Mission team of Leke Abejide/Omede Idris come 11 November 2023. The days ahead will be rough but not insurmountable with a strong will, commitment, and resolve.

“Let us join hands through handshake the logo of the ADC, our party. The Logo depicts friendliness, companionship and peace. These should be our focus to make the party victorious in our zeal of RESCUE MISSION, come November 11, 2023, Kogi state Governorship election.”

Dr. Omede called on supporters to begin to spread and push the Rescue Mission message down when the campaign commences in a few days to individual and groups at the polling units and across the state.

“Our dear people, the quest for us to take our rightful position in matters that concern the state, our lives, and our future cannot be overemphasized. Let us do these for posterity in the spirit that everyone has the right to aspire to any position, irrespective of where he or she comes from provided he meets the requisite requirements necessary for such without much discrimination. Surely all of you here are converted and believe in this spirit of oneness. Therefore, convincingly spread this message to others.

“We are optimistic that many will imbibe and demonstrate their conviction in the ADC Rescue Mission team in the cause of preparing and going for this election.”
