Kogi Governor’s Media Team Tasked on Effective Reportage of Govt Programs

The media team of the Kogi State Governor, Alh Yahaya Bello, have been told to drive the activities of the present administration to the door steps of citizens of the state.

Comrade Ali Atabor, Kogi State Chairman of Kogi Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, made the appeal when he received in audience members of the media team led by Mr Kinsley Fanwo, Director General for Media and Publicity.

Fanwo was with the NUJ Chairman to introduce Mrs Olamide Adesoro, the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant on Media to Kogi governor’s wife, Hajia Rashida Bello.

Comrade Atabor disclosed that the nine months administration in the state has taken bold steps to re-position the state and appealed that that all hands must be on deck for the realization of the administration’s programs.

While describing the present administration’s new direction vision as an initiative that can bring the needed change, if well supported by all in the state.

Comrade Atabor called for patience and understanding on the part of the citizens for the new direction administration to provide sustainable development, disclosing that the benefits derivable would be the positive impact on the socio economic development of the state.

The NUJ chairman described the steps taken so far by the governor’s media team towards ensuring that media practitioners in the state key into the activities of the present administration as commendable. He said media is the engine that drives the success of any administration.

The NUJ chairman pledged the support of working journalists in the state to the present administration in the state, assuring that efforts would be made to project government programs and policies to the people by the several outlets of the NUJ.

Earlier, Mr Kingsley Fanwo said the vision of the present administration is to drive home government activities using the media.

In her remarks, Mrs Olamide Adesoro, the new SSA to the governor’s wife on Media, solicited a working partnership with practicing journalists in the state, describing the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello as one committed to improving the quality of lives of the people.

Present at the visit, were Chairmen of Correspondents Chapel,  Obansa Ibrahim, and that of the Federated Chapel, Abu Michael, who all pledged to help in ensuring that the activities of the state government is made known to the people through effective reportage of government activities and programs.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mrs Petra Akintri Onyegbule, and all the governor’s Senior Special Assistants on Online, Prints and Electronics, attended the visit at the NUJ State Secretariat.
