Kogi State Governor Ibrahim Idris has called on Muslims in the country to use the Ramandan period to pray for peace and unity of the country. Governor Idris stated this in his message to mark the commencement of the Ramadan fast.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Malam Zekeri Adamu, the governor urged the Muslim ummah to use the holy period to preach brotherliness, tolerance, peaceful co-existence and love for one another.

He stressed that the month of Ramadan being a period for sacrifice and devotion offers an opportunity for adherents of the religion to reflect more on the need for good conduct. Governor Idris urged Muslims and all Nigerians to ponder on the teachings of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) on love, generosity, peace and tolerance.
