The people of the state have been called upon to remain resolute in their support for Gov. Yahaya Bello as the state government redoubles its efforts in the fight against various viral diseases in the state.
The State Commissioner for Health Dr. Saka Haruna, made this known today, in Lokoja, the state capital, during the official handing over of medical items to medical facilities in the state.
The Commissioner explained that the state government is adequately prepared to combat the various viral diseases, especially the ravaging coronavirus disease.
He said in view of this, the state government has reiterated its efforts by providing elaborate support in all homes through its medical facilities to ease suffering during any disease out break.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Babamaji also reiterated the state government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens, adding that the administration has deployed medical commodities to all the health facilities in every nook and cranny of the state, for the overall interest of the citizenry.
Speaking, Director Medical Services and Training, Dr. Barbanas Isah restated the determination of government to keep epidemic and pandemic diseases at bay via the provision of necessary health commodities for the use of medical and healthcare officers.
Dr. Isah stressed further that the equipment and consumables handed over are meant to fight the various viral diseases and health conditions that plague the people of the state.
He however, commended the effort of the state government for the precautionary measures put in place in the event of any disease outbreak in the state.
Receiving the medical commodities on behalf of the health facilities, Dr. Zakari Usman, Chief Medical Director, Hospital Management Board urged benefiting health centres to put the equipment and consumables to good use for the benefit of their patients and the citizenry.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude for the gestures by the state government, and pledged to make exhaustive use of the state-of-the-art items to enhance the health standard of the people of their communities.
