The Chairman of Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Andas Abdulkareem has described the spirit of sportsmanship demonstrated by aspirants in the just concluded governorship primary elections of various political parties in the state as worthy of emulation by other states in the country.
Alhaji Abdulkareem stated that the acceptance of the results and the pledge to work with candidates that emerged by those who lost in the primary elections has shamed the enemies of the state who thought that the primary elections will divide the political class and thereby put the state on the news headlines of negative stories.
The Chairman congratulated the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for not only emerging as the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) but ensuring a hitch free primary elections for other political parties by making sure that adequate security measures were put in place before and during the primary elections.
Alhaji Abdulkareem further said that the acceptance of the results of the primary elections and the pledge of other aspirants to work for the success of the State Governor in the November 2019 election has further demonstrated their confidence in his capacity and ability to consolidate on the good work the governor has been doing and take the state to next level of growth and development.
He commended members of the State House of Assembly for their unflinching support to the State Governor during the APC primary elections and urged them to give him more of their support to him in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The Chairman called on the people of the state to keep faith with the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and sustain the existing peace and tranquility in the state.
He called on them to eschew violence and anything that will tarnish the good image of the state before and after the governorship election adding that he is optimistic that the November 16 election will be peaceful and Alhaji Yahaya Bello will emerge victorious.
Alhaji Abdulkareem appealed to political class to play politics without bitterness and always remember that Kogi State is bigger than any individual, tribe or ethnic group and ensure that the only agenda is Kogi Agenda.
