Kogi East: We Voted APC in Obedience to Audu – Odekina

The victory of President Mohammadu Buhari at the last Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections in Kogi East Senatorial district has been attributed to the instruction given to the constituents by Prince Mohammed Abubakar Audu.

Speaking to newsmen in Ogbonicha, Ofu LGA of Kogi State, Dr John Odekina commended the son to late Prince Abubakar Audu for his counsel that the interest and well-being of the Igala-Bassa nation would be better protected under President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.

Odekina, speaking on behalf of the Audu political family across the nine local government areas of Kogi East, thanked Mohammed Audu for the support and encouragement needed during last Saturday elections. He noted that the former governor’s instruction made them go all out to vote for President Mohammadu Buhari and the APC.

He urged Prince Mohammed Audu to continue to follow the foot steps of his late father, saying the legacies of Late Prince Abubakar Audu would for long be remembered. He added that the former governor as a leader worth following even in death.

While responding, Prince Mohammed Audu, said his instruction to Late Prince Abubakar Audu political family to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari followed his discussions with the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

He thanked them for following his instruction.

“The Vice President actually told me to tell all Late Prince Audu political family in the entire nine local government areas of Kogi East to vote for the APC and President Buhari and I am happy that if not for the fact that I quickly intervened and made some comment about voting for President Buhari, some persons were not going to vote for APC.

On what his perspectives was on the 2019 election, Prince Mohammed Audu asked Nigerians and the political parties to place more emphasis on internal democracy of political parties.

He commended INEC for the arrangement put in place which ensured peaceful, orderly conduct and peaceful process witnessed during the last Saturday’s election.

Prince Mohammed Audu appealed to the people of Kogi East Senatorial District to be peaceful and remain calm before, during and after the 2019 general election, insisting that the people stand better to make progress in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
