Kogi Diagnostic, Comprehensive Laboratory and Imaging Centre: Central to Healthcare Delivery – Wada

The Kogi State Government has disclosed that the early completion of the State Diagnostic, Comprehensive Laboratory and Imaging Centre remains central to health care delivery and well – being of its citizens.

Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada, stated this when he inspected on–going work on the State Diagnostic, Comprehensive Laboratory and Imaging Centre, located beside the State Specialists Hospital, Lokoja.

Capt Wada who was represented at the visit by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said the project which was inherited from the immediate past administration at the ground floor level, would serve as a receptacle to all the efforts of the present administration aimed at improving the health needs of its people.

Capt Wada assured that all on – going projects either inherited or began by his administration would not be abandoned, described the health needs and well-being of the people as cardinal to his administration policies.

The Governor listed the free rural medical service began by his administration, the on – going construction of the University Teaching

Hospital Anyigba, attempt to renovate all General hospitals, and other health institutions across the tiers of government as well as the consistency on immunization programmes for the eradication of polio and other child killer diseases by his administration as a deliberate efforts to make health care delivery cardinal by his administration. He disclosed that when completed the Diagnostic, Comprehensive Laboratory and Imaging Centre would assist greatly in providing quality health care delivery to the people of the State.

Capt Wada expressed appreciation to the quality of work on the project, said with the speed of work, he is optimistic that the project would be delivered on schedule.

Earlier in his remarks, Dr. Idris Omede, Kogi State Commissioner for Health, said when completed the centre would deliver the best in terms of diagnostic acumen, X-rays and imaging to the people.
He added that the project which would equally check medical tourism, began in November 2014, expressed happiness that the work is progressing on schedule.

Speaking through an interpreter, Micheal Zuwoye, the representative of Oceanic, the contracting firm, said efforts to complete and deliver the work on schedule and according to specification would be ensured, commended Capt Idris Wada for the timely release of funds for the project.
