Kogi Deputy Governor Visits Family of Corp Member Who Died During Gov’ship Poll

The Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Chief Edward Onoja has commiserated with the family of National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) member, Samuel Sunday David who died in a boat mishap during the just concluded governorship election.

Onoja described the loss as a huge one on the community and family as he died on a national and state assignment.

He promised that the New Direction Government would affect his community with programs and projects in memorial of the deceased corp member.

He prayed for the family, assuring them of government’s assistance through the period, also, in extension to his family to see that the dreams and contributions of Mr Samuel to his family does not go to the grave with him.

Corp member Samuel, a native of Egagbenebe in Ofu local government area of Kogi state, drowned in River Niger along Ayobe in Ibaji local government on Saturday.

Samuel met his untimely death while working as an adhoc staff of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the governorship poll in Kogi state. He served as presiding officer.

Samuel is survived by his father, mother and three siblings. He was buried on Thursday.
