The State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, Navy Commander Jerry Duro Omodara (rtd) has been commended for his support toward the healthcare needs of the people of Oke-Offin in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State.

The commendation came on the heels of the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers, an intervention by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Kogi State Chapter, carried out with support from Cmdr Omodara to bring relief to rural dwellers.

Addressing newsmen at Oke-offin, the NYSC Coordinator for Kogi State, Mrs Mofoluwa Williams noted that the intervention was driven by the desire to bring succor to the people in communities where there are inadequate healthcare services and and residents are unable to afford medical intervention.

His Royal Highness, Oba James Ayinmode, Oluwao of Oke-Offin Bunu expressed joy for the initiative and how helpful it has been in his domain.

Similarly, the Local Government Inspector (LGI), Kabba/Bunu, Ms Rose Emmanuel, applauded the effort of Comdr Omodara who she said supported the initiative generously. She noted that the success of the initiative should be attributed to him.

Responding to the commendations, Comdr Omodara thanked the State NYSC and other stakeholders. He stressed the need to always reach out to the less privileged within the society as that was God’s mandate for humanity. He prayed for more grace to perform better even in this area.
