The  National Coalition of Kogi West Youth  for Good Governance has dissociated its self from the purported vote of no confidence passed by Senator Dino Melaye on the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The coalition vowed to  resist Senator Melaye and those group of degenerates who have been parading themselves as APC leaders in the state, warning them to desist from  sponsoring protest against the state governor.

The President of the Coalition, Barrister Zacchaeus Dare Michael who gave the warning  in Lokoja today during a press conference, alleged that Melaye and his cohorts have been representing the state without any development, stressing that the governor Bello should be allowed to execute his blueprint agenda for the development of the state.

According to him; “These  people have lost relevance in leadership of the state. They led Kogi for over twenty five years, but nothing to show as the state continued to witness dearth of basic social amenities. Governor Bello have come to effect positive change and he should be allow to do that in the interest of the people”

Michael, who was the former President of National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS),  stressed that Melaye as member of the National Assembly  should conserve his energy and time for legislative activities especially on issues that affects his constituency rather than making unguarded statements that does not contain an iota of truth about the state governor who within one year have rejuvenated the board of internal revenue which hitherto can only generate a paltry sum of N300 million as monthly allocation, adding that within four months, Governor Yahaya Bello was able to built a five storey Kogi revenue house to boost the revenue generation of the state to compliment the dwindling federal allocation to enable him transform Kogi state from its present precarious condition.

“I want to say without mincing words that Governor Bello is a God sent to salvage the state and wipe away the tears of the masses. Just in the month of December last year the internally generated revenue of the state hits 1.9 billion naira which has never happen in the history of the state.

“And again since the creation of the state, no administration either military or civilian have ever summoned courage to reform the civil service for effective service delivery. Governor Bello, a young and dynamic man faced the challenges and today a lot of cogs that had been hindering the performance of the civil service are unravelled, Melaye may not be aware that there are people who on monthly basis carted away salaries of over fifty staff plunging the state into under development.

“Melaye may also claim that he is not in the knowing that a reasonable percentage of the civil servants in the state paraded fake and forged certificates. How can Kogi state move forward with these type of anomalies?”, he queried.

Michael who was also the former Special Assistant to the immediate past administration but now a stalwart of All Progressive Congress (APC),  noted that the New Direction governor has recorded significant achievements in the last one year, disclosing that Bello had flagged-off  15 roads across the three senatorial districts of the state,  provided  17 motorized rural water schemes and 10 electricity projects to connect hitherto unserved communities to the national grid.

According to him; “In specific terms, Bello-led administration has provided health infrastructural facilities to hospitals in the state, flagged- off the construction of Ogaminana Ebogogo Ipaku- Kuroko junction,  construction of Obehira-Okengwe/Ihima Road, construction of Agassa-Upogoro-Okene road all in central senatorial district of the state.

“The governor also flagged -off  the construction of Anyigba-Ajaka-Umomi-Idah Roads, Ankpa township roads. Asphalt overlay of Ejuku-Ijowa-Jege-Ifeolukotun road, Ibana-Okpo-Igah-Ogugu-Ette road,  Ankpa-Abejukolo 75km Road cutting across two  LGAs,  Shintaku-Dekina road,  Idah-Iyano in Ibaji LGA, Ekinrin-Adde road and Lokoja city roads comprising 6 lots of which he had awarded three lots among other salient achievements”

Michael however wondered why a Senator who suppose to be praising the  governor for his effort goes about  deceiving the people of the state with his unwarranted vote of no confidence on the governor, stressing that members of the coalition completely dissociates themselves from the statement.
