Kogi Central Senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology/Cybercrime, Senator Yakubu Oseni has set aside a whooping sum of N26 million naira for rehabilitation of his supporters’ houses and property destroyed during his election.
The lawmaker made this known today in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State where most of his supporters were purportedly attacked by some alleged members of the opposition parties in the build up to the Senatorial election which was held on 23rd February this year.
Senator Oseni, a renown humanitarian and philanthropist frowned at the manner in which some candidates seeking people’s mandate resort to violence and destruction of property.
While distributing relief materials to them, the lawmaker revealed that his view of leadership is the capacity and will to rally men and women to a common purpose and character which inspires confidence, violence he stressed, is therefore an aberration to his political belief.
Also, no fewer than 300 market women have benefitted from the empowerment programme targeted to improve their living standard.
Senator Oseni who emphasized that he will never renege on his campaign promises said he will continue to partner the state government led by Governor Yahaya Bello to ameliorate the living standard of his constituents.
Some of the beneficiaries were Ibrahim Seidu, Hon. Olu Jatto, Muhammed Salawu, Ismaila Saka, Yusuf Shefi, Mary John, Alice Asuku and many others.
In his remarks, Alhaji Yahaya Karaku while commending the effort of the Senator Yakubu Oseni, pleaded with those who are yet to benefit from the empowerment scheme to vote Governor Yahaya Bello, noting that they would be carried along in the next phase of the empowerment programme.

Hon. Rabiu Ibrahim and 154 members of Inuko Progressives Forum ditched their various political parties and pitched their tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC), which they described as the only party with viable candidates and human-centred policies and programmes.
Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Barr. Deedat Ozigi, Administrator of Okehi Local Government, Abdulraheem Ohiare, Auditor-General of Kogi State Local Governments, Hon. Usman Ododo and other notable personalities were present at the programme.
