Business magnate and renowned philanthropist vying to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District at the Red Chamber, Alh Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene has expressed optimism in influencing an all-round development to the district.
Okene who said this on Monday while fielding questions from journalists in Abuja, declared that the district craves for revolutionary development in all spheres.
“I’ve  always had this sentiment in my description of the Central Senatorial District of Kogi State. Perhaps, I’m being hyperbolic, but I see my district as the centre of Nigeria owing to  its strategic location. For a place like this, likened to similarly positioned places in other countries I’ve been privileged to visit, we’re due for an aggressive development in all spheres.
“I represent a change in legislative business where the development of fatherland is top priority, and synergy with other arms and tiers of government works the magic,” he said.
According to the entrepreneur, it is high time legislators went a notch higher in their givebacks to the masses whom they represent, describing himself as a politician who will make his words, his bond.
“The people of Kogi Central are people of great standard in their expectations and yearnings, and they have always had a special place in my heart. Giving them anything less than the standard would be a great disservice, and promising them what I can’t give amounts to playing on their intelligence.
“Consistently, I’ve been in the business of alleviating the lives of my people in their thousands through the various schemes of my foundation. Even presently, we’re looking forward to commissioning projects before we run into the primaries,” he revealed.
He added that lawmakers have an important role in consolidating the strides of the other Arms of government at the State and Federal levels, a change he promised to champion at the 9th Assembly.
