Let me on behalf of League of Progressive Reformers of Kogi Central Senatorial District begin this epistles of the collective thoughts of all progress minded fellows who are of the beliefs that our leaders have failed us leaving us without hope, as I categorically quote the Former President of USA, Barack Obama who stated this in his victory speech at IOWA caucus, 2008
“Hope is not blind optimism. It’s not ignoring the enormity of the task ahead or the roadblocks that stand in our path. It’s not sitting on the sidelines or shirking from a fight. Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it, and to work for it, and to fight for it. Hope is the belief that destiny will not be written for us, but by us, by the men and women who are not content to settle for the world as it is, who have the courage to remake the world as it should be.”
The political temperature is gathering momentum where we have seen some political aspirants making some needless noise as to their aspirations to be voted into national office as Senator in 2019. The question staring at us now is: Who takes over the senatorial seat in 2019 from the current ineffectual current holder as the political atmosphere in the state most especially, Kogi Central is heated and war of words among the various contestants is taking a centre stage?
The League of Progressives believes that petty sentiments should not be the basis of politicking in the twenty first century. Clannish, nepotism and egotism belong to the Stone Age. We should rather place much premium on potentials and capabilities rather than zoning and some needless parameters. The focus should be; can he or she deliver? What is the past performance records of a couple of past holders of this post and these arrays of aspirants jostling for the position of Senate from Kogi Central Senatorial District? Is there any of the aspirants that truly flows well with all other clans, tribes religions? Who among the aspirants is a progressive with good track records in leadership or public administration?
The above hypothetical questions and many more deliberate yardsticks should be developed as template to measure, select and elect the next senator of Kogi Central Senatorial District.
Let us therefore be guided by the precious doctrine of equity, good conscience and sound democratic principles.
My choice of ideal candidate must be chosen using these parameters:
– A team player; more experienced in human management
– A well-focused manager who has the interest of his people at heart, someone who is administratively skillful; someone who will deliver dividends of democracy.
– A fearless and courageous person with guiding philosophy to provide right leadership and effective legislative representation for the betterment of our people-a complete stickler for hardwork and excellence.
Ladies and Gentlemen, our senatorial district has come to a crossroad, and now we have the power to change the political landscape of Kogi Central Senatorial District. The time has come for someone to take on those responsibilities as exemplified in the parameters above. Somebody who is ready to take on those challenges as we have been nourished by a generation of broken promises.
Leadership is an opportunity to serve and it is with this vision we have seen which have made several families, friends, colleagues, associates, professionals, artisans, socio-cultural groups making suggestions that Alh. Dalhatu Sheriff (ADS) runs as he would make a viable candidate among all the aspirants that have shown interest and waiting for his consent but whatever way, THE STAGE IS SET and it is widely expected that ADS will soon give his approval and release his political machinery for the journey to National Assembly, 2019.

Alhaji Dalhatu Sheriff (ADS) is an Ebiran, from Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State who came from humble beginnings and was able to rise up to be an enviable entrepreneur. He is very youthful, educated and transparent, vibrant, experienced and service-oriented, a detribalized and religious tolerant Nigerian with impeccable character, a role model to many, a philanthropist of no mean repute, an enviable and silent achiever full of enthusiasm and vitality and above all God-fearing .A man of vision, well-focused, energetic and pragmatic. He is committed and hardworking Founder of ADS Foundation, who is championing the cause of his people towards ensuring the betterment of life of the citizenry to provide rural infrastructure ,health care support, educational grant and as well as empowerment for widows and orphans. He believes that bold action is superior to mere talk when it comes to game-changing charity works. He believes giving his best in service to God and humanity powered by his relentless entrepreneurial spirit and vision. He is an uncommon patriot of our land, Ebira, visionary leader.
A rare political and core humanist. He is indeed a catalyst needed to bring economic growth and robust political atmosphere in Ebiraland if he heeds the clarion call to contest for the senatorial seat of Kogi Central. A man of great experience. This is not just about your political ambition, but it is more about the future of Ebiraland, Kogi and Nigeria.
Alhaji Dalhatu Sheriff has used fortune of his business in real estate, quarry management supply chain among others to create employment and empowerment for youths across ethnic divides.
The highly enterprising and resourceful Dalhatu studied Political Science from University of Abuja He is from the popular Momoh Saki’s family .He is being loved, appreciated and accepted in and around the state.
It is on these backdrops that he has been receiving accolades, encomiums, congratulatory messages and even that clarion calls from various groups and individuals to contest for Senate in 2019 to enable him continue his efficient and selfless service to the good people of Kogi Central Senatorial District.
If he is endorsed and elected to be our face at the Red Seat Chamber, there are several things he will do to ensure that our needs are met day in and out across the land.
As a business owner it has given him a unique perspective on the pains and challenges people in his constituency face.
Economic prosperity for some years have been neglected by a couple of holders of this position and we have the believe he plans to change all of that, as project that would promote new and existing businesses and attracting investors to our land different from what the current holders who have preferred to invest in buying grinding machines without the accompanied fuel to make it work, motorcycles for our youths to use to render them haggard in looks as well as contribute to unavoidable accident which have resulted into injuries, bruises and even untimely death of some, sewing machines without threads and materials among others as perceived means of empowerment to their respective constituencies. Effective legislation has gone beyond these anomalies.
The sense that we can overcome with ADS…The sense that no matter how difficult our circumstances, we have the boldness to say, “We can do better” with ADS. We have been cynical about our recent representatives and worried about issues like real empowerment, education, healthcare et al but with ADS, there is Activism of Hope. His connections, earnestness and youthful swagger if he made it to the legislative chambers as a senator will serve as a pedestal to be a Real voice in parliament and do what representative ought to do, what his constituents want and be bound by mandates from them.
It is however good to make it clear to our electorate that it is not the role of the legislator to build roads, hospitals or schools ,but the kind of bills that ADS will sponsor will enable the quick and efficient delivery of those services and prosper our senatorial district.
Legislative work is a career, nurtured by experience, passion to serve the common and public good rather than a desire to prosper individual interest which our representative has failed in thus forgotten and abandoned his responsibilities towards his constituents.
A senator who is not in good relationship with his constituents and shying away from his constituency responsibilities.
He has failed to look into the basic needs and challenges currently be devising the Kogi Central, such as issues of education, as most of our students cannot access good quality education. He failed to attract a single project to his district in terms of infrastructure, roads and others. Always playing second fiddles in the legislative businesses. He has continuously and deliberately ignored efforts by the people to create a working relationship that will bring out purposeful leadership for our people as he hardly visit his people.
ADS coming on board is an answer to all these deficiencies as he believes youth need real opportunities to participate in political processes and contribute to practical solutions that advance development as youths often find themselves marginalized from mainstream politics and decision making .And if given ADS the opportunity he would play an impactful role in political decision making and defend democracy and bring dividend of democracy to the good people of Kogi Central Senatorial District. He is ready to fight and defend the inalienable right of his constituents. The preservation of such rights of every youths, women and children to life, and pursuit of happiness in any remains the hearty commitments of the aspirant.
It is pertinent to conclude this epistle with word on the marble of the same person, Former President of America, Barack Obama that we started this with:
“Hope in the face of difficulty; hope in the face of uncertainties, the audacity of hope .In the end that is God’s greatest gift to us. A belief in things not seen.
A belief that there are better days ahead as seek for a better alternative for effective legislative representation in ADS. Let it be known that the widely best-selling book of Barack Obama, Audacity of Hope can be reincarnated in Alhaji Dalhatu Sheriff (ADS). He will bring change for hope to Kogi Central Senatorial District.
ADS should be seen as People’s Candidate as he is known for being different than most politicians aspiring for the position of senate.
League of Progressive Reformers want to emphasized that he is going to work to change things for better as he has firm determination to press on for jobs for our teeming jobless youths, press on for the sake of our women and children, for the sake of all those families who are struggling right now, who never know where the next meal will come from.
In ADS, he is consist of efforts to promote, direct social, religious, political, economic and environmental reform with desire to make improvements in our senatorial district.
Let us not allow sentiments, ignorance and others senseless parameters to further enslave our destiny. Let there be activism of hope in Alhaji Dalhatu Sheriff (ADS) for Senate in 2019 as together we thrive to make kogi central better.
He is an imperfect vessel for our hopes and dreams for a better effective legislative representation. A man who is sort of unflinchingly and unwaveringly empathetic and taking action to effect social and economic change if he becomes a voice in the parliament in 2019.
