Comrade Onimisi Kabiru Atta, born in Ogaminana, Adavi LGA of Kogi State. Comrade Kabiru spent the better of my growing up in Okene but left for Lagos where he completed his secondary education.
Comrade Onimisi Kabiru Atta is the son to a foremost Politician and technocrat Late Engr Idris Ibrahim Atta (Turaki of Ebiraland) the former General Manager of Ajaokuta Steel company and a one time Governorship aspirant and running mate for Gov Abubakar Audu under ANPP.
After his secondary education, he left for the United Kingdom to further his education where he spent about 10yrs. He graduated with a degree in Information Technology and Business management, a post graduate in Technology Entrepreneurship & project management and an Executive Certificate in Leadership and Management from the universities of Hull, Strathclyde, University College London and Salford respectively amongst several other professional qualifications.
Kabiru is currently a member of the institute of leadership in the UK, British computer society and association of computer machinery New York.
His working experience span across world class organization in the UK from Telecoms, banking and blue chip computer company.
Upon return to Nigeria in his short years in the civil service, he has worked with the Abuja Technology Free Zone company under the FCTA and the National Population Commission where he then decided pursue entrepreneurial flair.
Politically, Comrade Kabiru began an advocacy group called change for Nigeria Initiate which began in the UK and was inaugurated in Nigeria 2010. He is also the founder of Nigerian Youth Alliance for democratic transformation both non-govermental organization.
It will be recalled that Comrade Onimisi Kabiru Atta contested in 2011 to represent Adavi/Okehi at the Federal House of Representatives but lost at the primaries.
He has spent the last 3 years working with the Labour movement, specifically instituting the Labour Party (LP) in Kogi Central with the motive of deepening the roots of ideal democratic values.
At the just concluded Labour Party convention in Akure, Ondo State, He declared his intention to run for the seat of the senate for Kogi central senatorial district at the National Assembly.
His political ideology is that of equity, justice and fairness. To use the people’s mandate in reversing the current socio-economic retrogression of his people.
His objective is to creative sustainable development through robust representation of the ideals of my people in the national assembly and to also deliver dividends of democracy to masses through social initiatives.
