I, Dr. Abdulrahman Hassan Ocholi, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), representing the North Central Zone, warmly congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, and the good people of Kogi State on the historic celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the creation of the state.
Thirty-five years of Kogi State represents a remarkable journey of resilience, unity, diversity and progress. From the confluence of the Niger and Benue Rivers to the communities that make up the three senatorial districts, Kogi has continued to produce people of courage, intellect, enterprise and uncommon determination.
At this landmark moment, I commend Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing purposeful leadership and sustaining the development trajectory of the state. His administration’s focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, security, youth empowerment and human capital development demonstrates a commitment to building a stronger foundation for Kogi’s future.
As a stakeholder in the education sector, I particularly appreciate the emphasis being placed on education and human capital development. No society can achieve sustainable progress without investing in its people, and the continued strengthening of educational institutions remains essential to equipping the next generation of Kogites with the knowledge and skills required to compete in an increasingly dynamic world. Thank you for the Rural transformation Programme that has birthed the Construction of Iyale – Odolu- Efu – Oganenigwu Road after several years of Neglect
I therefore commend His Excellency for his efforts to consolidate existing projects while pursuing new initiatives that have the potential to expand economic opportunities, improve livelihoods and position Kogi State as a destination for investment, innovation and sustainable development.
As we celebrate 35 years of our collective journey, I urge the people of Kogi State to continue to support initiatives that promote peace, unity and development. Our diversity should remain a source of strength, while our shared identity as Kogites should inspire us to work together for the prosperity of the state.
The anniversary also provides an opportunity to look beyond celebration and recommit ourselves to the task of building the Kogi State we desire. With visionary leadership, responsible citizenship and sustained investment in education, infrastructure and human capital development of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the state is well positioned to achieve even greater milestones in the years ahead.
I am confident that the years ahead will usher in a new era of greater prosperity, stronger institutions, expanded opportunities for our young people and improved quality of life for all citizens.
Once again, I congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the entire people of Kogi State on this memorable 35th Anniversary. May God continue to grant the Governor wisdom and strength, and may He bless Kogi State with enduring peace, prosperity and accelerated development.
