The executive arm of government in Kogi State has maintained a neutral position in the change of guards in the state House of Assembly which saw to the impeachment of Alhaji Abdulahi Bello and other principal officers.
The state governor, Captain Idris Wada, in a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja, on Thursday, by the Chief Press Secretary Mr Richard Elesho, declared that “it has once again become necessary to clarify the unbiased and objective position of the executive arm of government in the crisis that has engulfed the Kogi State House of Assembly.
“It must, therefore, be emphasised that there is nothing unusual or clandestine in the visit of the lawmakers to the Governor in the wake of the leadership change in the assembly.
“In fact, during that maiden visit, the governor renewed his commitment not to meddle in the internal affairs of the other arms of government.
“In any case, Governor Wada’s doors are opened at all times to all indigenes of the state, especially the lawmakers, who may have useful ideas for the good governance of the state to transmit.”
