Kogi State Assembly aspirant from Okene II state constituency, Comrade Salisu Al-hassan has commended Senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe for his massive empowerment programme for women in Kogi Central senatorial district.
In a press statement released by Al-hassan’s media adviser, Ibrahim Ibrahim in Lokoja on Friday, the aspirant said Ogembe’s women empowerment initiative is unprecedented in the zone.
He enjoined other political leaders to emulate Senator Ogembe.
“Senator Ogembe’s N20million women empowerment scheme is worthy of commendation. One thousand women were empowered with skills ranging from cream and soap making, bead making and other profit-making skills.
“I urge other political office holders from Kogi Central to emulate this gesture as it will go a long way to ease the suffering of the masses.
“On behalf of the good people of Kogi central, I sincerely commend the efforts of our amiable Senator Ahmed Ogembe for another great and resourceful empowerment programme for the benefit of women in Kogi central. This
gesture has equally positioned him among philanthropic leaders of our time.
“I appeal to Senator Ogembe to see this commendation as a tonic to always bring back the benefits of democracy to the people he represents at the upper chamber.
“The large turnout at the empowerment programme clearly shows the undiluted love our people have for Senator Ogembe. It is an appreciation of his quality representation. We will gladly pay back with our PVCs in 2019,” he said.
He enjoined the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to make judicious use of the skills acquired and add
value to the community and their lives.
