The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the party’s governorship primaries had been slated for September 20 and 21, following which the party’s flag bearer would emerge.
He said that the party is yet to pick its flag bearer in the forthcoming governorship elections in Kogi State, saying that the party has not picked Prof. Obaje or Prince Abubakar Audu who recently defected from the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) to the ACN.
“It is the handiwork of mischief makers, nobody has been nominated, it is a blatant lie”.
It will be recalled that Professor Yusuf Obaje has been all out in the media that he remains the candidate of ACN for the December governorship elections. But with the statement from Lai Mohammed, it is obvious that Obaje will have to get back to the drawing board and build a good strategy to retain the ticket.
Information reaching us suggests that Audu is already in control of the party machinery both at the state and national levels and will easily defeat other aspirants in the scheduled primaries.
