Adeyemi was kidnapped alongside two others on their way to a burial ceremony at Kabba on Friday.

The public relations officer, Kogi state police command, SP William Aya, confirmed their release.

Aya confirmed they had been reunited with their families.

It was, however, gathered that the headmaster and the other two abductees were released on Sunday night by the kidnappers after a N1.5m ransom.

A family source disclosed that the headmaster returned home around 8pm on Sunday, adding that he was badly beaten by his abductors.

“They were given raw cassava to eat any time they complained of hunger. So he and the other man have been hospitalised.

“The lady among the kidnapped has also been taken to a hospital in Ilorin,” the source said.
