Kogi: Abducted 18-month Old, Two Others Regain Freedom

An 18-months old boy and two others who were kidnapped last week Thursday by unknown gunmen at the Royal Garden Relaxation Spot in Egume, Dekina local government area of Kogi state have regained their freedom.

The 18-month old boy who happen to be the hotel manager’s son, a lady and the a brother of late Anthony Monday, who was killed at the relaxation spot by the abductors, were released on Monday.

Recall that unknown gunmen stormed the relaxation spot at about 8.30 pm last week Thursday, killing one Anthony Monday and kidnapping persons.

The gunmen, who were allegedly adorned in Fulani attire, stormed the open arena of the Royal Garden Relaxation Spot shooting sporadically as customers ran for safety in different directions.

The kidnappers, it was reported, made contact with the family of one of their victims barely 12 hours after their abduction.

Confirming the development, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer Mr. Williams Aya however said that he was not aware of the payment of any ransom.

Aya, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said that the command is still on the trail of the criminals, and making all necessary efforts to bring them to book.
