Killer Herdsmen in Nigeria; Since Mr. President Said They Are Foreigners…

As a President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic, Muhammadu Buhari is the Chief Security Officer whose security remarks, no one must assume with levity. Though justifications from sensitive security units as regard killings by herdsmen have continued to raise questions, courtesy of competency, on those whose hands our safety is entrusted. For instance, the Defense minister, Mansur Dan Ali attributed the killings to farmers’ blockage of paths through which herders move their cows.
The police Inspector General, Ibrahim Idris Kpotum also explained that the killings was as a result of bills passed into law by some states.
More disgusting, President Muhammadu Buhari, while answering questions from the archbishop of Canterbury in London said the herdsmen killings is older than his administration. His words;
“The problem is even older than us. It has always been there but now made worst by the influx of armed gunmen from Sahel region into different part of the West Africa sub-region.
“These gunmen were trained and armed by Muammar Gadaffi of Libya. When he was killed,  the gunmen escaped with their arms. We encountered some of them fighting with Boko Haram.
“Herdsmen that we used to know carries only sticks and maybe a Cutlass to clear the way. But this ones now carry sophisticated weapon. The problem is not religious, but sociological and economic. But we are working  on solutions.”
I want you to draw your own conclusions if Mr President is not embarrassing us.
Gaddafi was killed on October 20, 2011.
Herdsmen killings escalated actually from 2016. Yet, Gaddafi who died in 2011 trained herdsmen who were killing in 2016!
And now these:
Did he train them exclusively for Nigeria? Or they were militiamen who became redundant after Gaddafi’s death?
Going by the above, did they have to wait for FIVE years after Gaddafi’s death before starting to kill?
Now, did they come to Nigeria to buy cattle and become herdsmen? Or big cattle owners employed them knowing full well that they were armed?
If these guys were trained by Gaddafi, how come Buhari once asked us to treat them as brothers?
How come Defence Minister and the police IG were justifying the reason they (herdsmen) were killing farmers.
How come government usually becomes interested/deploys security agents whenever these herdsmen are killed? After all, they are not Nigerians. They were militiamen trained by Gaddafi!
If the president had said the illicit arms these militiamen used to fight for or against Gaddafi found their way to Nigeria after the death of the dictator, it would have made sense. It was obvious that it was another attempt at proving that these killers are not Nigerians. They may be, they may be not.
But to say Gaddafi trained herdsmen killing people in Nigeria in 2018 was another low.  A terrible low…
However, Mr President’s latest description of Herdsmen attacks on innocent Nigerians has apparently justified governor Ortom’s statement asking Herdsmen to leave Benue.
My stance;
Killer Herdsmen have no right what whatsoever, to unleash mayhem on the country playing host to them.
In China, countless Nigerians are rotting away in jail over mere crimes, perhaps, for an offence they knew nothing about.
In South Africa, Nigerians are flawlessly accused of illicit act they have no idea of. But in Nigeria, Militiamen are being protected for killing people. I wonder why Nigerians still left Buhari to rule them despite enormous failures.
But since Mr President said they are foreigners. We have to assume this in affirmative and treat the so called GADAFFI BOYS like their master.
