Kilani Mandate Support Group Flags-off Maiden Dr. Taofiq Debate Competition

As part of efforts to improve the quality of education in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Kilani Mandate Support Group has flagged off the maiden edition of Dr. Taofiq debate competition.
The Kilani Mandate Support Group is an organisation with the mandate of actualising  the ambition of the  Ambassador Kilani Olusola Olumo to represent Ijumu Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly in 2019 General Elections.
In a statement issued by Director- General of the Campaign Organisation of the candidate, Mr. Obalaja Lanre stated that the aim of the debate competition is to bring the best out of the youth in the area adding that this will promote the spirit of healthy competition amongst youths in Ijumu Kingdom.
According to him, the debate/essay competition, entitled ”effects of rural-urban migration in Ijumuland”, will be  opened to Ijumu indigenes of the area between the ages of 17 – 25 years.
Obalaja said the debate/essay competition will be held in the three districts of Gbede, Ijumu Arin and Ijumu Oke pointing out that the best from the districts will compete at a grand finale at a date to be announced later in December, 2018.
He revealed that the All Progressives Candidate for Ijumu House of A Assembly, Ambassador Kilani Olusola Olumo, the sponsor of the program will be giving out 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000 Naira to first, second and third winners respectively.
He urged youths and parents in the area who are in interested in the competition to contact Mr. Obalaja on 08036200303 and 09058223144 adding that the competition is opened to indigenes of the local government irrespective of political affiliations.
According to him, the maiden edition is one of many programmes Ambassador Kilani will be rolling out in his determination to support youth empowerment in the area and assured the people of the area of the determination of the candidate to be the voice of the people of Ijumu if elected to represent them at the Kogi State House of Assembly.
