Base on the existing mutual arrangement and agreement between the good people of Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu Local Government Areas of Kogi State from time immemorial, it’s turn of Ijumu people especially Ijumu-Aarin a is to produce the next member to represent the said federal
constituency in the federal House of Representatives, Abuja come 2015.

In the year 1999 when the said gentle-men arrangement started, Ijumu Local Government Area citizens was asked to produced a member to
represent the said federal constituency in the lower chamber where Hon. Samuel Abiodun Ojo from Egbeda-Egga, Ijumu-Oke axis emerged then, thereafter, Hon. Durosinni Meseko from Odo-Ape, Bunu axis in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area took over in 2003, Hon. Daniel Dino Melaye from Ayetoro Gbede, Gbede axis in Ijumu Local Government Area emerged in 2007 under the same arrangement and in the 2011, Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf from Kabba town, Kabba axis in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area emerged.

Although, Hon. Daniel Dino Melaye before, during 2011 election wants to break the said arrangement but all concerned factors and/or forces
rises voice against him and he failed in break the popular jinx.

As at today, I can tell you authoritatively that Ijumu-Aarin people have resolved on a consensus candidate in person of Otunba Ibikunle
Omolade from Iyara after a keen contest during ” Ijumu-Aarin Shadow Primary Election” with Prince Akin Ojumoro, Dr. Johnson Juwon Orugun and Hon. Segun Ojo.

Kabba-Bunu people should as a matter of maturity, importance and equity respect the existing arrangement and/or agreement and support
Ijumu candidate i.e Otunba Ibikunle Omolade and disown Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf, Hon. Jethro Funsho Oni and Hon. Emmanuel Funsho Olorunfemi etc for posterity sake and hope for better future.

I stand for peace, justice, equity, progress, fairness, harmony and development.

I aired my view on this subject-matter so as to orientate and re-orientate our people ahead of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP)
House of Representatives primary election in Kabba-Bunu / Ijumu Federal Constituency, Kogi State and nothing more.

This is akin to naked impunity being promoted by some selfish and dangerous politicians. The real voters in Kogi must stand up against such unholy intentions

Kogi politics needs overhauling. For now, it is the duty of the electorate to be watchful as such will strengthen its democracy.

In a state like Kogi which is already riddled with many sudden deaths of politicians, the authorities should go into swift action to unearth this failed assassination attempt. This is really intolerable in a country that is a struggle to develop its democracy.

This revelation on attempted assassination has come at a pivotal time in Kogi politics, we need to address such ugly incidents which has almost become a trend. Any effort to suppress a thorough investigation on this should be resisted by the Kogi people.

This is very sad because the alleged people behind such an atrocity are likely to be some high ranking politicians. So may even be close associates of Wada Idris that may think that his exit may create a vacuum to search for a new candidate like done by the APC. Who knows, it could even be those in power now. May God intervene in this Kogi self styled politics where violence has become the order of the day.

Even though I am skeptical about the victory of Captain Idris Wada at the election Tribunal, in any case, there exist some people that see him as an obstacle to their political advancement. The parties in court must be cautioned to desist from any thing that will disrupt peace in Kogi sate.

If the plot had succeeded, I guess it would have attracted both local and international uproar, a major distraction for the central government. Adequate security should be provided to a man like Wada to avoid another unexplained death in Kogi politics
