Leading aspirant for Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu House of Representatives seat in the National Assembly, Hon. Idris Rufus Oluwafemi, has disbursed over N450,000 to pay tuition and other fees for 10 students studying at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba.

Idris, popularly known as Idrufem, gave out the financial aid to benefiting students last Saturday.

The globally celebrated entrepreneur and philanthropist, who is seeking election on the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC), admonished the students to study hard and make their families, communities and state proud.

In an appreciation letter jointly signed by Durowaiye James, Solomon Omotayo Comfort and Gbenga Bright, Presidents of PAAU chapters of Kabba Students’ Union (KSU), President Bunu Students Union (BSU) and Ijumu Students Union (ISU) respectively, Idris was described as God-sent.

The student unions said Idris Olorunfemi is a rare breed, adding that while other political aspirants are fully focused on party delegates, he still looked their way.

“The above named associations are using this medium to appreciate a philanthropist turned politician, Hon. Idris Rufus Oluwafemi (IDRUFEM), an aspirant for the office of House of Representatives, who out of his magnanimity came to the aid of ten (10) indigent students from Kabba/Bunu Ijumu federal constituency to offset their school fees.

“Our appreciation also goes to Prof J.J. Orogun, Dr. Klinsman, Dr. Mrs Otitolaiye and Dr. Osele who helped make this a reality. We pray God almighty meet you at the point of your needs.

“This kind gesture is hard to find during this period when politicians are soliciting for the support of delegates. Hon. Idris took the bull by the horn by putting smile on the faces of students who have no hope of paying their school fees.

“We pray that the almighty God grant you your heart desire in Jesus name. Truly you are God sent in human form,” they said.
