An aspirant for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections, Hon. Wemi Jones has stated that youth empowerment scheme will be his major focus if elected to represent the people of the area.
According to a Ten-point Agenda, as released by head of Wemi Jones Media Team, Comrade Rufus Obafemi, Hon. Jones’ aim of aspiring to represent the people of the area at the green chamber is to bring progress and development to the area, pointing out that the aspirant will use his wealth of experience to bring socio-economic development to the area.
According to him, part of Hon. Jones’ ten-point agenda include building of standard and efficient hospitals across each local government areas of the constituency and the provision of scholarships to indigent students in secondary and tertiary institutions.
Comrade Obafemi disclosed that as part of the aspirant’s desire to be accessible to his constituents, constituency offices will be built in each district of the constituency which will enable the people of the area to channel their complaints and observations for appropriate action, adding that civic centres will be built to complement it.
On his programme for youths, he revealed that a well-articulated policy will be put in place to end thuggery and cultism amongst youths in the area adding that, he would work in partnership with appropriate agencies to rehabilitate dilapidated infrastructure across Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency.
He stated that as part of effort to reduce unemployment, youths in the area would be empowered to be self-reliant by embarking in skills acquisition programme, pointing out that the ten-point agenda also include monthly payment is N5000 to retired and aged people of the area.
Comrade Obafemi appealed to the people of the area to consider the antecedent of the aspirants who are contesting in order to have a credible person as the representative of the people of the area.
He described Hon. Jones as a man who honours his words and would provide excellent representation with integrity, competence, fairness. and firmness.
