Comrade Oniwaye Olusegun John a.k.a Ogede1 was born to the family of Hon. and Mrs. Oniwaye Alex Adeyemi, popularly known and called OGEDE.
Comrade Oniwaye Olusegun John Ogede1 hail from Aherin Bunu in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State. He was born on 15th December 1988.
He started his educational career at Demonstration Primary School, Kabba between 1996-2001 and proceeded to Michael Omonogun Memorial Secondary School, Lokoja between 2001-2007 for his secondary education. He went for a six month Diploma programme in Computer Operation in 2008 before he was admitted for his degree programme at Kogi State University, Ayingba where he read Philosophy and Religious Studies from 2009-2012.
He served his father land during a mandatory one year of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Lokoja Study Centre from 2013-2014.
Being in academic environment, he quickly seized the opportunity to obtain his Masters Degree in Public Administration immediately after his youth service corps from 2014-2016.
As a lover of wisdom who knows the efficacy of education in our contemporary society, Comrade Oniwaye Olusegun John is currently undergoing his second degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at National Open University of Nigeria.
Comrade Oniwaye Olusegun John has served in several leadership position rights from his primary school days. He started as a punctuality prefect at Demonstration Primary School. He contested and won election as the pioneer President of Literary and Debating Club at Michael Omonogun Memorial Secondary School, Lokoja and at the same time he was the Game Prefect for 2006/2007 Academic Session.
He started student unionism at Kogi State University as the Assistant General Secretary of Okun Students’ Union, KSU Chapter and the same time the Social Director, Bunu Students’ Union, KSU chapter. Due to his selfless service and dedication, he was also given the opportunity to serve as the Treasurer of Okun Students’ Union, KSU chapter and as the President of Bunu Students’ Union KSU Chapter respectively.
It is noticeable that Comrade Oniwaye Ousegun John Ogede1 is always very active and dedicated anywhere he found himself which made him to be unanimously agreed and voted for as the pioneer president of NYSC Gender Vanguard CDS group in Lokoja, Kogi Sate during his youth service year.
He is not only active at school unionism alone but at his community level where he was also elected as the president of Aherin Students’ Union due to his sacrificial and humanitarian services at all sphere of life.
Comrade Oniwaye Olusegun John Ogede1 served National Bunu Students’ Union as the Assistant Editor-in-Chief in 2014. He facilitated the hosting of BSU football competition tagged Engineer Ibisagba John Competition in 2013 which revived the sport activities of the union that has long be abandoned and the success recorded made it possible to facilitate another hosting of the competition tagged IDRUFEM 2014 where history and legacy was laid in the anal of Bunu Students’ Union till date.
As a comrade who values education, he donated text books to the 2016 executives of Bunu Students’ Union to be shared across all secondary schools in Bunu land.
Comrade Oniwaye Olusegun John Ogede1 is happily married with two wonderful kids.
