The Zonal Vice Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi East Zone, Comrade Pete Amodu has called on the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to extend his decision to establish two MOPOL bases situated at Kogi Central and West to the Eastern flank of the State.
The Zonal Chairman stated this while reacting to the recent declaration by the State of her partnership with the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force on the plan to establish two bases along Obajana-Kabba road (Kogi West) and Okene (Kogi Central).
In a statement issued by the public relations officer of the youth organization, Michael Achor Joshua, the NYCN request is not coming to just satisfy the urge for balance in zonal distribution but on the heels of the recent kidnap cases along Itobe-Ayingba way. He stated that this will restore confidence to commuters of that route.
He praised Governor Bello for always rising up to the challenges of security in the state and prayed his request is granted the quickest possible attention it deserves.
He further charged youths to stay away from cultism and other vices capable of misleading them to the wrong path of life.
