A seasoned and globally celebrated entrepreneur, philanthropist and humanitarian, Hon Idris Rufus Oluwafemi, popularly known as IDRUFEM, has in his usual manner of enhancing better living standard for community dwellers, has supported the electrification project of Iluafon/Illah/Iluke communities with one million Naira.

For many years now, these communities have been in total blackout as almost all the electricity poles that connect the community have fallen down with no one to come to their rescue.

The required total sum estimated to take care of the project being a little above 3million naira.

With the efforts of a concerned community youth representative and Financial Secretary of BDA, Comrade Oniwaye Olusegun John (Ogede1), who has committed himself to soliciting donations towards the said project, Hon Idris Rufus Oluwafemi was contacted and without hesitation, showed his readiness to support.

Following his donation, other individuals are also responding to the call and the project is ongoing and should be fully restored in no distanced time.

It could be recalled that Idris Rufus Oluwafemi singlehandedly sponsored Bunu Students’ Union sport competition with millions of Naira in 2014.

Far back 2015, he has been committed to stimulating more economic opportunities for youth, women, and other vulnerable groups, especially in aspirational sectors – agribusiness, ICT, entertainment, fashion, wholesale and retail trade, renewable energy etc – across different states of the federation and he is set to replicate same and even more for the good people of Okunland.

Also in the oven for the later part of this year, Idris Rufus Oluwafemi is set for yet another massive activities for his “Okun to the World” initiative, widows and youth empowerment, medical outreach programme among several other initiatives across Okun land

His activities lately has brought cold to the spines of many political players as they began to speculate his likelihood of contesting for the Federal House of Representatives in 2023.

Following this, this reporter visited him to know his political plans for 2023, of which he said although he has the right to and qualified to contest, but he has no such plans for now.

“My support for community development youth and women empowerment programmes are inspired by my passion to continually impact positively on the lives of the people and our people remain my priority,” he said.
