Idera-De Political Movement Declare For APC

The massive political structure of Mr Williams Toyin Akanle, the senate candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last National Assembly election in Kogi West has declared for the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The political structure popularly referred to as IDERA-DE Political Movement made their stand known at an enlarged meeting last Saturday  held at the Isanlu Town Hall, in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The meeting, which was convened by the movement’s Visioneer, Pastor Toyin Akanle to chart a way forward politically, in view of the present political realities in the state in particular and the nation in general.

Among the over five hundred delegates that attended the meeting, were politicians across party leanings, youths, women and members of civil societies and organizations across the L.G.A.

Issues extensively discussed at the meeting includes the following:

  1. The seeming failure of the political class in the past, which has led to underdevelopment and disillusionment and near total apathy on the part of the people.
  2. The need to urgently address the lopsided distribution of social amenities, employments and appointment in the state, in the interest of equity, fairness and justice.
  3. The need for the re-orientation of the youths, the women and other groups in the political class, towards creating a new social political order.
  4. The maximization of all potentials through human capital development and capacity building.
  5. The need to overhaul the existing political machinery to allow for the emergence of persons of integrity, who are selfless, committed and dedicated towards attaining a new political order.
  6. The need to assess the present political developments nationwide so as to determine the way forward and a favorable position to ensure political inclusion.

At the end of the extensive deliberations, participants unanimously resolved as follows:

  1. There is an urgent need to overhaul the present political system, to allow for the emergence of a new order.
  2. That in the interim, the convener of the meeting, Pastor Toyin Akanle, was mandated to play a pivotal role in all matter of political considerations.
  3. That Pastor Toyin Akanle and other identified well meaning political leaders should serve as bridge builders across Yagbaland, Okunland and kogi state at large.
  4. That the leadership of the movement should immediately initiate actions towards moving to the All Progressive Congress (APC) which has become the dominant political party in the country after wide consultation.
