Concerned Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Idah local government area of Kogi State has denounced the list being circulated as Executives of the party in Idah LGA.

The denouncement followed a meeting of critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Idah local government area among whom were the GYB’s Elders Advisory Council led by Alhaji Suleiman Abdullahi (Baba Sule Ukwaja), the GYB Connect led by Yusuf Abdulkarim (Ele Obodo) and the former Ward SAs to the Governor led by Hassan Egwuda.

The new list which has strongly raised concerns in Idah local government area polity, is contrary to the existing executives of the party and clearly contradicts the resolution of the Kogi State APC under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello as instructed to be applied across the twenty one LGAs in the state.

Whereas it was expected that all the Executives of the party from the Ward to Local Government will be affirmed for a new term; a selected stakeholders, convened by an emerging faction in collaboration with erstwhile PDP members who obviously worked against the party in the November 2019 gubernatorial reelection of Governor Yahaya Bello, wrote names of suitably controllable stooges as both the Ward and Local Government Executives without recourse to rule of engagements, partisan capacity and acceptability by the masses.

According to the stakeholders, it was rather shocking that the Idah local government Chairman, Hon. Abuh Odoma, the member representing Idah State Constituency, Hon. Suleiman Atajachi Musa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Assembly Matters, Hon. Haruna Idoko Musa and one Alhaji Friday Idachaba, who are big beneficiaries of the peace and stability in the party could claimed to have other private directive outside the earlier reached at the Government House, Lokoja, prior to the ward congress.

The aggrieved stakeholders also cautioned a renowned philanthropist, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, who was coopted into the anti-people’s activities of these selfish leaders who were nowhere to be found at the heels of Gov. Yahaya Bello’s second term bid, noting that the rising profile Alhaji Muritala Yakubu enjoys is too precious to be brought to mud by proponents whose only political artillery is the claim of being major stakeholders of our great party in Idah Local Government Area.

The Stakeholders’ worry were particular about the sudden surfacing of a retinue of Gov. Bello’s antagonists, including Jibrin Shaba, Muhammed Musa Sapato and many more who were erstwhile foot soldiers of Hon. Haruna Idoko Musa, been named as Ega Ward Party Executives despite their hitherto open rejection to the reelection bid of Governor Yahaya Bello and the APC as a party.

The Stakeholders, while calling for an immediate reversal of the Kangaroo Executives’ list which they described as an exercise in futility equally commended the maturity of the original executives for not going into any verbal or physical reprisal over the injustice done to them.

While vowing to use all legal means within the party’s jurisprudence to reclaim the rights of the original Idah Local Government EXCO under the leadership of Hon. Abubakar Shaibu Agada, they also called on Governor Yahaya Bello, the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja, State Party Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello and other stakeholders of good conscience to fast track justice in Idah Local Government Area APC.
